THE THEORY
A framework for how systems continue through disruption.
Recursive Continuity Ontology, or RCO, is a framework for understanding how systems continue through disruption.
RCO begins with a simple claim: anything that persists must solve the problem of continuity. A person, relationship, organization, culture, civilization, living system, or intelligent technology must preserve enough structure to remain itself while adapting enough to survive change.

In this framework, reality is studied through recursive objects: systems that carry memory, update through time, respond to disruption, and attempt to preserve future-access. RCO gives language to the geometry of continuation, collapse, adaptation, and transformation.

Rather than treating disruption as random chaos, RCO studies how pressure bends the possible futures available to a system. The goal is to understand not only what a system is, but what futures it can still reach.

THE FORMULA
A measurable model of transformation, coherence, and disruption load.
At the center of RCO’s applied framework is the T Formula:
T = (M × R × P) / (D + 1)

The formula models transformation potential as the interaction between Meaning-Making Capacity, Relational Support Intensity, Adaptive Plasticity, and Disruption Load.

In Emotional Field Theory, this equation is used to describe how human beings reorganize during grief, trauma, crisis, and acute destabilization. When meaning, relational support, and plasticity rise while disruption decreases, transformation becomes more accessible. When disruption overwhelms the numerator, collapse, rigidity, or emotional paralysis become more likely.
The T Formula gives RCO and EFT a measurable structure for studying change. It turns emotional transformation from a purely subjective experience into a field process that can be observed, scored, tracked, and eventually tested across individuals, groups, organizations, and larger systems.

THE CANON
The official archive of RCO white papers, definitions, and DOI releases.
The RCO Canon is the public archive of foundational white papers, technical notes, formulas, definitions, diagrams, and research documents that define the field.

This repository includes work on Recursive Continuity Ontology, Emotional Field Theory, Affective Field Dynamics, the T Formula, the Grief Transformation Index, continuity horizons, recursive objects, emotional calculus, group transformation, and future measurement systems.

Each paper functions as part of a growing knowledge structure. Some documents introduce major laws or operators. Others define key terms, clarify applications, or extend the framework into clinical care, chaplaincy, behavioral health, systems theory, artificial intelligence, and civilization-scale continuity.

The Canon exists so RCO can be studied, cited, challenged, refined, and expanded as a living research tradition.

THE SYSTEMS
Tools for measuring, searching, and applying continuity science.
RCO Hub is not only a theory archive. It is also the home for applied systems built from the ontology.
These systems include GTI and GTI-R for rapid emotional-field scoring, GTI-80 for deeper assessment, GTI-S for future sensor-supported measurement, GENIE for canon search and continuity intelligence, and continuity-frame tools for tracking change across time.

Together, these systems are designed to move RCO from concept into practice. The long-term goal is to build tools that help clinicians, chaplains, researchers, organizations, and communities identify disruption, strengthen coherence, improve future-access, and support transformation through measurable intervention.
