The Transformation Formula

The First Law of Emotional Field Theory (EFT)

The T-Formula is a quantitative model of human change during grief and acute disruption. Developed within Emotional Field Theory and Recursive Continuity Ontology, it describes transformation potential as the interaction between meaning, relational support, adaptive plasticity, and disruption load.

The Formula

The T Formula proposes that transformation is not random. Human change during acute disruption emerges from the relationship between Meaning-Making Capacity, Relational Support Intensity, Adaptive Plasticity, and Disruption Load.

M — Meaning-Making Capacity: The ability to generate coherence, purpose, narrative, or interpretation from what is happening.

R — Relational Support Intensity: The stabilizing force created by connection, support, presence, belonging, and relational safety.

P — Adaptive Plasticity: The capacity to reorganize thoughts, emotions, identity, and behavior in response to changing conditions.

D — Disruption Load: The cumulative pressure of stress, grief, danger, instability, trauma, or destabilizing force acting on the system.

— One: The constant variable of universal entropy and lawful decay which remain even when disruption is scored at 1 out of 10.

Section Two.

T-Formula Through Time

As you take multiple snapshots of one node/object moving through time, you start seeing a waveform emerge. This wave form is dependent on coherence (MRP) being compressed by disruption (D). Disruption is typically more dynamic than MRP and so as you watch disruption spike you see t-scores drop, as disruption softens, t-scores rise.

2-D vs 3-D Rendering of T-Formula

While watching t-formula scores progressively through time reveals a waveform, we also realize that while one point in two dimensional space is flat, a point in three dimensional space becomes a sphere. The t-formula visualized within objects may be best constructed as expanding and collapsing spheres.
